PYTH community: holders verified by wallet
What PYTH is, where the Pyth Network community talks, and how to join or build a Cherry room gated by a real PYTH balance on Solana.
PYTH is the governance token of Pyth Network, the oracle that publishes market prices for smart contracts to read, and it lives on Solana as an SPL token at mint HZ1JovNiVvGrGNiiYvEozEVgZ58xaU3RKwX8eACQBCt3. With 306,451 wallets holding it on 12 September 2026, the PYTH community is spread across Discord, Telegram and X, where a member list tells you nothing about who holds or stakes anything. Cherry (cherry.fun) is a wallet-to-wallet messenger and community app for crypto: you sign in with a wallet, DM any address, and join group chats that read the chain themselves. Cherry runs a PYTH holders room at chat.cherry.fun/@pyth
, gated by a PYTH balance. Cherry is not affiliated with the Pyth Network team.
What PYTH is
Pyth Network takes prices for crypto, equities, foreign exchange and commodities straight from the firms that trade those markets, and publishes them on-chain. PYTH governs that network: holders stake it for voting power, and they can assign stake to a publisher under Oracle Integrity Staking, where a bad price can cost the publisher and its backers part of that stake. The Pyth Data Association publishes the staking site where both happen.
As of 12 September 2026:
- Chain and standard: Solana, SPL token under the SPL Token program, six decimals.
- Mint:
HZ1JovNiVvGrGNiiYvEozEVgZ58xaU3RKwX8eACQBCt3, with mint and freeze authorities disabled, so no new supply can appear there and no balance can be frozen. CoinGecko also lists PYTH contracts on Neon EVM and Manta Pacific; the Solana mint is the one a gate reads. - Launch: PYTH has traded on Solana since 20 November 2023, the date of its first liquidity pool.
- Supply: 7,874,961,091 PYTH in circulation against a 10,000,000,000 maximum.
- Market cap: about $431 million.
- Coverage behind the token: Pyth’s site counts 138+ publishing institutions and more than 3,000 price feeds.
Holding PYTH is a governance position, and governance moves. After proposal OP-PIP-103, the Oracle Integrity Staking reward rate was set to zero on 22 April 2026. Staking and slashing stayed live, so stake assigned to a publisher can still be cut, and governance staking was untouched. Votes like that are why a room of proven holders beats a room of followers.
Where the PYTH community talks today
Pyth’s public channels, as of September 2026, are the site at pyth.network with its community hub , a Discord at discord.com/invite/PythNetwork and a Telegram group at t.me/Pyth_Network . They carry announcements well, and none of them can tell a holder from a tourist.
A Telegram group admits anyone with a phone number, so a wallet sitting on 500,000 PYTH and an impostor with a copied avatar read the same. Discord’s usual fix is a verify bot: you leave the server, sign a message on a third-party site, and come back with a role. That loop is also the shape of the most common Solana phishing attack.
PYTH holders on Cherry
Cherry’s PYTH room is a public group whose membership is a balance check. Sign in with the wallet that holds your PYTH, press join, and Cherry reads that wallet’s balance of the mint above. Sell below the minimum and the room paywalls you: you stay a member, and content is withheld until the balance returns.
The room opened on 11 September 2026. It is public, titled “PYTH Holders”, gated by “Hold at least 1 $PYTH”, and on 12 September 2026 it had one member and no reviews. Cherry created it and runs it; it is a holders room, not a Pyth Network channel.
Four things work there that do not work in a Telegram group:
- Every member passed a token gated chat balance rule against the PYTH mint, and keeps passing it in the background.
- You can DM a wallet address you met in the room. Direct messages are end-to-end encrypted with keys derived from your wallet signature; the group chat is not encrypted, by design, so moderation and bots can work.
- Size trades settle through OTC escrow in the Cherry mobile app: both sides fund an on-chain escrow, it settles atomically, and a deal that times out refunds both senders.
- A team can point airdrops and quest-style eligibility at a verified holder list.
Typing $PYTH in any Cherry chat renders a token card with price and market cap, and pressing Buy opens a swap routed by Jupiter in the web app: that is what trading in chat
means here. One caveat specific to PYTH: the gate reads what the wallet itself holds, so keep at least 1 PYTH loose in the wallet you sign in with.
How to create a PYTH-gated room
Running your own PYTH-holder group takes about a minute; the guide to token-gated group chats covers the rest.
- Open chat.cherry.fun , connect a wallet, and sign the sign-in message. Nothing goes on-chain and there is no gas.
- Press “Create group”, name it, and keep “Group visibility” on Public.
- Open “Access requirements”, switch on “Token-gated”, and paste
HZ1JovNiVvGrGNiiYvEozEVgZ58xaU3RKwX8eACQBCt3into “Token mint address”. - Set “Minimum amount” in PYTH units: 1 for an open holders room, 100,000 for larger holders. A group takes up to five rules; under “To join, members need”, pick “All of these” or “Any one”.
- Save, then claim a handle in the group settings. The public page it gives you shows the requirement and is where holders land.
Risks and disclaimers
This page describes a token and a chat room, and endorses neither. A balance rule proves what a wallet held at the moment it was read and nothing about the person behind it, so treat offers and links in any room with the suspicion you would use anywhere else. Check the mint above against CoinGecko or Jupiter before pasting it into a rule: a wrong mint gates the wrong token. Nothing here is financial advice. Tokens can lose value.
FAQ
Is the PYTH room on Cherry run by the Pyth Network team?
No. Cherry created and runs the room at chat.cherry.fun/@pyth and is not affiliated with Pyth Network. It is a holders room, not an official Pyth channel.
How much PYTH do I need to join the Cherry room?
At least 1 PYTH in the wallet you sign in with. The rule reads that wallet’s balance of mint HZ1JovNiVvGrGNiiYvEozEVgZ58xaU3RKwX8eACQBCt3 when you ask to join and again in the background afterwards.
Does PYTH committed to staking count towards the gate?
Keep at least 1 PYTH loose in the wallet you sign in with. The check reads what that wallet holds of the mint, and tokens committed to Pyth’s staking program are held by the program, not by your wallet.
Where does the PYTH community talk officially?
As of September 2026, Pyth Network points people to its site at pyth.network and its community hub, a Discord at discord.com/invite/PythNetwork and a Telegram group at t.me/Pyth_Network. None of them check what your wallet holds before you post.
