ORCA is the governance token of Orca, a Solana automated market maker named after the whale, and it lives on that chain as an SPL token at mint orcaEKTdK7LKz57vaAYr9QeNsVEPfiu6QeMU1kektZE. An ORCA token community chat has one thing to settle first: which members are the liquidity providers and voters behind the token, and which are wallets passing through. Cherry (cherry.fun) is a wallet-to-wallet messenger and community app for crypto: you sign in with a wallet, DM any address, and join group chats that read the chain themselves. What ORCA is

Orca is a decentralized exchange on Solana, built by Grace Kwan and Yutaro Mori and open to traders since February 2021. It ran for six months with no token of its own. In August 2021 the project adopted ORCA as a governance token and distributed it retroactively to people who had already used the exchange: 4 million ORCA to liquidity providers, 1 million to traders, 250,000 to advisors. Holding ORCA is a vote in the Orca DAO on proposals that steer the protocol and the treasury behind it, and a small fee on every trade funds the Orca Impact Fund, which gives to ocean conservation and financial literacy causes and had donated more than $1 million by September 2026. Orca now turns on Whirlpools, concentrated liquidity pools where a provider chooses the price range their capital works in.

As of 12 September 2026:

  • Chain and standard: Solana, an SPL token under the SPL Token program, six decimals.

  • Supply: 60,798,771 ORCA circulating out of 74,999,540 issued, against a cap of 100,000,000 fixed at launch.

Orca reports more than $500 million in fees earned by liquidity providers, over $500 billion in cumulative trading volume and about $236 million of liquidity in its pools as of September 2026, after five years without an exploit. PYUSD used Orca for its Solana debut in 2024.

Where an ORCA token community chat happens today

Orca’s official channels are the site at orca.so , a Discord server , the governance forum at forums.orca.so , the documentation at docs.orca.so , the code at github.com/orca-so and the account @orca_so on X. There is no official Orca Telegram group, so a Telegram room carrying the name belongs to someone else.

Discussion splits between Discord and the governance forum, and neither admits wallets, only people. The usual fix is a verify bot: you leave the server, sign a message on a third-party site, come back for a role, and repeat the loop whenever the bot loses state. That sequence is also the shape of the most common Solana phishing attack. Governance sharpens it: a member list shows roles and join dates, so the wallet with real voting weight in a proposal thread reads the same as one that bought in this morning. ORCA holders on Cherry

Cherry’s ORCA room is a public group whose membership is a balance check. Sign in with the wallet holding your ORCA, press join, and Cherry reads your balance of that mint. Sell below the minimum and access ends: holdings are re-checked in the background, which can take up to a few days to catch up.

The room opened on 11 September 2026, titled “ORCA Holders”, gated by “Hold at least 1 $ORCA”, and on 12 September 2026 it had one member and no reviews. Cherry created and runs it, with no Orca team affiliation.

Four things work differently there from a Discord server:

  • Every member passed a token-gated chat balance rule against mint orcaEKTdK7LKz57vaAYr9QeNsVEPfiu6QeMU1kektZE, and keeps passing it.
  • You can DM a wallet address you met in the room. Direct messages are end-to-end encrypted with keys derived from your wallet signature; the group chat itself is not encrypted, by design, so moderation and bots can work.
  • Size deals settle through OTC escrow in the Cherry mobile app: both sides fund an on-chain escrow that settles atomically, and a timed-out deal refunds both senders.
  • A team can aim airdrops and quest-style eligibility at a verified holder list.

ORCA also trades inside the chat: type $ORCA or paste the mint in any Cherry composer and the message renders a card with price and market cap, and pressing Buy opens a swap routed by Jupiter . That is trading in chat .

How to create an ORCA-gated room

Running your own ORCA group takes about a minute in the web app; the guide to token-gated group chats covers the rest.

  1. Open chat.cherry.fun , connect a wallet, and sign the sign-in message. Nothing goes on-chain and there is no gas.
  2. Press “Create group”, name it, and set “Visibility” to “Public” (access requirements are offered for public groups).
  3. Open “Access requirements”, switch on “Token-gated”, and paste orcaEKTdK7LKz57vaAYr9QeNsVEPfiu6QeMU1kektZE into “Token mint address”.
  4. Set “Minimum amount” in ORCA units: 1 for an open holders room, higher for a big-holder room. A group takes up to five rules; under “To join, members need”, pick “All of these” or “Any one”.
  5. Save, then claim a handle in the group settings. The page it gives you lists the requirement and is where holders land.
