Meteora community chat: MET holders verified on-chain
What MET is, where the Meteora community talks today, and how a Cherry room gates entry on a real MET balance on Solana, with the verified mint.
MET is the token of Meteora, a liquidity protocol on Solana, and it lives on that chain as an SPL token at mint METvsvVRapdj9cFLzq4Tr43xK4tAjQfwX76z3n6mWQL. A Meteora community holds an unusual mix: liquidity providers running price-bin positions, teams launching tokens on a bonding curve, and airdrop claimants. Cherry (cherry.fun) is a wallet-to-wallet messenger and community app for crypto: you sign in with a wallet, DM any address, and join group chats that read the chain themselves. Cherry runs a MET holders room at chat.cherry.fun/@met
, gated by a MET balance. Cherry is not affiliated with the Meteora team.
What MET is
Meteora builds liquidity pools on Solana. Its DLMM spreads liquidity across discrete price bins with dynamic fees and limit orders, DAMM v2 is the constant-product pool with NFT-backed positions, and the Dynamic Bonding Curve carries a new token through price discovery before graduating it into a DAMM v2 pool. The project grew out of Mercurial Finance, an early Solana AMM, and that lineage is written into the token: 15% of MET went to Mercurial holders and 5% to a Mercurial reserve.
MET launched on 23 October 2025 with a fixed supply of one billion and 480 million of it (48%) circulating on the first day. Almost every allocation was released at launch; the team’s 18% and the 34% Meteora reserve sit behind a one-month cliff and then pay out over 72 months. A tenth of the supply went out as Liquidity Distributor positions in the launch pool, 3% of it reserved for JUP stakers. Two days after the launch the team burned 2,261,990 MET.
As of 13 September 2026:
- Chain and standard: Solana, an SPL token under the SPL Token program, six decimals.
- Mint:
METvsvVRapdj9cFLzq4Tr43xK4tAjQfwX76z3n6mWQL. - Supply: 550,983,071 MET circulating out of 997,733,395 issued, against the one billion minted at launch and reduced by burns.
- Market cap: about $126 million.
- Holders: 43,468 wallets.
Meteora’s DLMM pools held about $280 million of liquidity on 13 September 2026, across 158,028 pools that have traded more than $309 billion.
Where the Meteora community talks today
Meteora’s own channels are the site at meteora.ag , the documentation at docs.meteora.ag , a Discord server , a Dev Updates channel on Telegram, and @MeteoraAG on X. Liquidity providers gather at the LP Army hub , which says it has more than 22,000 members. The Telegram channel is a one-way feed for builders, so a Telegram group chat carrying the Meteora name belongs to someone else.
Meteora’s launch guidance told claimants to take links only from the Discord announcements, the X account and the official site, and to confirm the mint before swapping. That warning fits the venue. A Discord admits people, not wallets, so the usual repair is a verify bot: leave the server, sign a message on a third-party site, come back for a role. That sequence is also the shape of the most common Solana phishing attack, and for holders who paste mints into pool interfaces all day, one fake claim link is expensive. The alternatives to token-gated Discord cover that gap.
MET holders on Cherry
Cherry’s MET room is a public group whose membership is a balance check. Sign in with the wallet holding your MET, press join, and Cherry reads your balance of that mint. Sell below the minimum and the room paywalls you: you stay a member with message content withheld until a later check passes, and holdings are re-checked in the background, which can take a few days to catch up.
The room opened on 12 September 2026, titled “MET Holders”, gated by “Hold at least 1 $MET”. Cherry runs it, with no Meteora team affiliation, so nobody in it speaks for the protocol.
Three things work differently there from a Discord server:
- Every member passed a token-gated chat balance rule against the mint above, and keeps passing it.
- You can DM a wallet address you met in the room. Direct messages are end-to-end encrypted with keys derived from your wallet signature; the group chat is not encrypted, by design, so moderation and bots can work.
- Size deals settle through OTC escrow in the Cherry mobile app: both sides fund an escrow that settles atomically, and a timed-out deal refunds both senders.
MET also trades inside the chat: type $MET or paste the mint in a Cherry composer and the message renders a card with price and market cap, and pressing Buy opens a swap routed by Jupiter. That is trading in chat
.
How to create a MET-gated room
Running your own MET group takes about a minute in the web app; the guide to token-gated group chats has the rest.
- Open chat.cherry.fun , connect a wallet, and sign the sign-in message. Nothing goes on-chain and there is no gas.
- Press “Create group”, name it, and set “Visibility” to “Public” (access requirements are offered for public groups).
- Open “Access requirements”, switch on “Token-gated”, and paste
METvsvVRapdj9cFLzq4Tr43xK4tAjQfwX76z3n6mWQLinto “Token mint address”. - Set “Minimum amount” in MET units: 1 for an open holders room, higher for a room of large positions. A group takes up to five rules, combined under “To join, members need” as “All of these” or “Any one”.
- Save, then claim a handle in the group settings. The page it gives you lists the requirement and is where holders land.
Risks and disclaimers
This page describes a token and a room, endorsing neither. A balance rule proves a holding at the moment it is read and says nothing about the person behind the wallet, so treat offers, pool links and claim sites in any room with the usual suspicion. Check the mint above on Jupiter or CoinGecko before pasting it into a rule: a wrong mint gates the wrong token. Nothing here is financial advice. Tokens can lose value.
FAQ
Is the MET Holders room on Cherry run by the Meteora team?
No. Cherry created and runs the room at chat.cherry.fun/@met and is not affiliated with Meteora. It is a holders room for people who hold the token, not an official Meteora channel.
Where does the Meteora community talk?
Meteora’s own channels are the site at meteora.ag, the documentation at docs.meteora.ag, a Discord server and a Dev Updates channel on Telegram, plus @MeteoraAG on X. Liquidity providers gather at the LP Army hub, which says it has more than 22,000 members.
How much MET do I need to join the Cherry room?
At least 1 MET in the wallet you sign in with. The balance rule reads your holding of mint METvsvVRapdj9cFLzq4Tr43xK4tAjQfwX76z3n6mWQL when you ask to join, and again in the background while you stay.
What is MET and when did it launch?
MET is the token of Meteora, the liquidity protocol on Solana. It launched on 23 October 2025 as an SPL token with a supply of one billion, 480 million of it in circulation on day one, distributed to Mercurial Finance holders, liquidity providers, JUP stakers and off-chain contributors.
