Magic Eden community: ME holders verified by wallet

What the ME token is, where the Magic Eden community talks, and how to join or build a Cherry room gated by a real ME balance on Solana.

ME is the token of Magic Eden, the NFT marketplace, and on Solana it is an SPL token at mint MEFNBXixkEbait3xn9bkm8WsJzXtVsaJEn4c8Sam21u. The Magic Eden community is scattered over collection Discords, trader Telegram groups and X, where a member list says nothing about who holds ME. Cherry (cherry.fun) is a wallet-to-wallet messenger and community app for crypto: you sign in with a wallet, DM any address, and join group chats that read the chain themselves. Cherry runs an ME holders room at chat.cherry.fun/@magiceden , gated by an ME balance. Cherry is not affiliated with the Magic Eden team.

What ME is

Magic Eden began as a Solana NFT marketplace and spent 2024 and 2025 as a multi-chain one, trading Bitcoin Ordinals and Runes alongside Ethereum and Polygon collections. Chief executive Jack Lu said in early March 2026 that the Ethereum, Polygon and Bitcoin markets would close because Solana carried more than 85% of volume; trading there ended on 9 March 2026 and the wallet on 1 April 2026.

The token arrived before that pivot. ME’s first liquidity pool on Solana was created on 4 December 2024 and the airdrop claim was set for 10 December 2024, with allocations driven mainly by the Diamonds traders had earned on the marketplace. The price peaked that day.

As of 13 September 2026:

  • Chain and standard: Solana, SPL token, six decimals.
  • Mint: MEFNBXixkEbait3xn9bkm8WsJzXtVsaJEn4c8Sam21u, with mint and freeze authorities disabled, so no new supply can appear and no balance can be frozen.
  • Supply: 616,328,655 ME in circulation against a 1,000,000,000 maximum.
  • Market cap: about $39 million.
  • Holders: 152,781 wallets hold the mint.

Utility is a revenue share. In January 2026 Magic Eden said it would send 15% of total revenue to ME from 1 February 2026: half buys ME on the open market, half is paid monthly in USDC to people who stake it, weighted by size and duration of the stake.

Where the Magic Eden community talks today

Magic Eden publishes through the marketplace at magiceden.io , a help center at help.magiceden.io , and an X account. As of September 2026 those carry announcements, not holder conversation.

The talking happens in collection Discords and Telegram groups, which is where the trouble starts. A Discord server admits anyone, then patches that with a verify bot: leave the server, sign a message on a third-party site, come back with a role. That loop is the shape of the phishing attack it is meant to prevent. Telegram takes screenshots as proof of holdings, so a staker with 200,000 ME and a lurker look alike.

ME holders on Cherry

Cherry’s ME room is a public group whose membership is a balance check. Sign in with the wallet holding your ME, press join, and Cherry reads its balance of the mint above. Sell below the minimum and a background re-check paywalls you: you stay a member with the room in your chat list and message content withheld until a later check passes.

The room opened on 12 September 2026, titled “ME Holders”, gated by “Hold at least 1 $ME”, and on 13 September 2026 it had 409 members and no reviews. Cherry created and runs it; it is a holders room, not a Magic Eden channel.

Four things work there that a Telegram group cannot do:

  • Every member passed a token gated chat balance rule against the ME mint.
  • You can DM a wallet address you met in the room. Direct messages are end-to-end encrypted with keys derived from your wallet signature; the group chat is not, by design, so moderation works.
  • Size trades settle through OTC escrow in the Cherry mobile app: both sides fund an on-chain escrow and a timed-out deal refunds them.
  • A team can point airdrops and quest-style eligibility at a verified holder list.

Cherry’s collection field takes a Magic Eden collection link as well as a raw address, looks it up, and shows the collection’s name and image before you save: the same NFT gated chat check behind verifying NFT holders . A group takes up to five rules, so one room can hold an ME balance rule beside a rule for a Solana collection, with the logic set to Any one: holders of either get in, checked on-chain. Typing $ME in a Cherry chat renders a token card with price and market cap, and Buy opens a Jupiter-routed swap in the web app: that is trading in chat .

How to create an ME-gated room

  1. Open chat.cherry.fun , connect a wallet, and sign the sign-in message. Nothing goes on-chain and there is no gas.
  2. Press “Create group”, name it, and keep “Visibility” on Public.
  3. Open “Access Requirements”, switch on “Token requirement”, and paste MEFNBXixkEbait3xn9bkm8WsJzXtVsaJEn4c8Sam21u into “Token mint address”.
  4. Set “Minimum amount” in ME units: 1 for an open room, 100,000 for larger stakers. Under “To join, members need”, pick “All of these” or “Any one”.
  5. To admit NFT holders too, add an “NFT requirement” and paste a collection address or a Magic Eden link into “Collection address or Magic Eden URL”.
  6. Save, then claim a handle in the group settings. The public page it gives you lists the requirements.

Can one room check Magic Eden NFTs as well as the ME token?

Yes. A group takes up to five rules, and the collection field accepts a Magic Eden link as well as a collection address. Pair an ME balance rule with an NFT rule, set the logic to Any one, and holders of either get in.
