# IO net community: a verified IO holders room > What the IO token is on Solana, where the io.net community talks today, and how Cherry's IO Holders room checks every wallet against the real mint. Type "io net community" into a search box and two crowds come back: the operators who rent or supply GPUs on io.net, and the wallets that hold IO, the network's token on Solana at mint `BZLbGTNCSFfoth2GYDtwr7e4imWzpR5jqcUuGEwr646K`. This page is about the second crowd. Cherry (cherry.fun) is a wallet-to-wallet messenger and community app for crypto: you sign in with a wallet, DM any address, and join group chats that read the chain themselves. Cherry runs an IO holders room at [chat.cherry.fun/@ionet](https://chat.cherry.fun/@ionet), gated by an IO balance. Cherry is not affiliated with the io.net team. ## What IO is io.net rents out GPU time: idle hardware from data centres, mining farms and individual operators, pooled into clusters machine-learning teams book. In September 2026 it put that pool at 30,000+ GPUs and 80,000 CPUs in over 130 countries. The company ran quantitative trading systems before June 2022 and turned the compute it built for itself into a product. IO is how the network settles. Renters can pay in fiat or USDC, and those payments convert to IO behind the scenes, so suppliers take their pay in IO or convert it to USDC: USDC payments carry a 2% facilitation fee, IO payments none. Suppliers also earn block rewards, credited hourly since 25 June 2024 and split 95% to GPUs and 5% to CPUs, which a device qualifies for only with a minimum IO stake. As of 13 September 2026: - Chain and standard: Solana, SPL token under the SPL Token program, eight decimals. - Mint: `BZLbGTNCSFfoth2GYDtwr7e4imWzpR5jqcUuGEwr646K`, with the mint and freeze authorities both disabled, so no new tokens can appear from it and no balance can be frozen. - Launch: IO came through Binance Launchpool, farming from 7 to 10 June 2024 with 20 million IO paid out and 95 million circulating at the start. The first Solana pool for the mint opened on 10 June 2024. - Supply: 397,416,158 IO circulating out of 797,937,895 minted, against a maximum of 800,000,000 and a genesis supply of 500,000,000. - Market cap: about $51.0 million, ranked 443rd by CoinGecko. - Holders: 85,576 wallets. IO set its high on 12 June 2024, in its first week of trading, and its low on 5 February 2026. ## Where the io net community talks today io.net points people to its site, its documentation, a Telegram group, a Discord server, the @ionet account on X and its GitHub org. The Telegram group, titled "io.net | official community group", listed 45,361 members on 13 September 2026 and the Discord server about 393,800. Neither number says anything about IO: 85,576 wallets held the token that day. A Telegram group admits anyone with a phone number, so a supplier running a rack of machines and an impostor with a copied avatar sit in the same list. Discord's usual fix is a verify bot: leave the server, sign on a third-party site, come back with a role. That loop is also what phishing sites imitate. io.net meets that problem from the supply side. Its documentation records that Ryzen Threadripper devices lost block-reward eligibility after reports that people tried to inject those machines into the reward pool. A network that pays for real hardware checks the hardware; a room for holders checks balances. ## IO holders on Cherry [IO Holders on Cherry](https://chat.cherry.fun/@ionet) Cherry opened a room called IO Holders at [chat.cherry.fun/@ionet](https://chat.cherry.fun/@ionet) on 12 September 2026. Cherry created it and runs it: this is Cherry's holders room, not io.net's channel, and Cherry is not affiliated with the io.net team. Entry is one token balance rule on the mint above, minimum 1 IO, which the storefront states as "Hold at least 1 $IO". On 13 September 2026 the room was public, with 122 members and no reviews. Every name in that member list passed [an on-chain check](https://cherry.fun/learn/features/token-gated-chat/) the app makes itself. Nobody sends you a verify link. Membership is re-checked on-chain in the background, about every three days per wallet, and a wallet that drops below 1 IO is paywalled: it stays a member with the room in its chat list, message content is withheld, and a later passing check or the Re-check button restores it, with no re-join. From there a holder can [DM any wallet address](https://cherry.fun/learn/features/dm-a-wallet-address/), including wallets that never opened Cherry. Type $IO in the composer and the message renders a token card with price and market cap, with the swap powered by Jupiter. Open [chat.cherry.fun](https://chat.cherry.fun) and sign in with a Solana wallet. The wallet signs a message: no gas, nothing on-chain. 2. Create a public group with a name, description and handle, so it gets a storefront page. 3. Add an access requirement of the token-balance type, paste the mint `BZLbGTNCSFfoth2GYDtwr7e4imWzpR5jqcUuGEwr646K`, and confirm the symbol resolves to IO. 4. Set the minimum: 1 IO admits any holder, a higher one narrows the room. A group takes up to five rules under all or any logic. Visitors see the requirement, and whether their wallet passes, before they join. A balance gate proves a wallet held 1 IO when the check ran and nothing about the person behind it, so scam links and impersonation still need moderators. Group chats on Cherry are not end-to-end encrypted, by design, so moderation and bots can work; DMs are end-to-end encrypted with keys derived from your wallet. No. Cherry created the room at chat.cherry.fun/@ionet and runs it, and Cherry is not affiliated with the io.net team. It is a room for wallets that pass the balance check, and does not speak for the project. ### How much IO do I need to join the Cherry room? At least 1 IO in the wallet you sign in with, which the storefront states as "Hold at least 1 $IO". An owner running their own IO room can set any minimum. ### What happens if I sell my IO? You are not removed. Membership is re-checked on-chain in the background, about every three days per wallet, and a wallet that drops below 1 IO is paywalled: the room stays in your chat list, message content is withheld, and the screen lists every requirement with a pass or fail mark. Buying back above the minimum and pressing Re-check restores access on the spot, as does a later passing background check, with no re-join. ### Do I need a GPU or an io.net account to join? No. The gate reads one thing: the IO balance of the wallet you sign in with.
