FIDA community: Bonfida, SNS and where holders talk

What FIDA is, how Bonfida became SNS, the channels the two projects publish, and the SNS Club on Cherry, the room that checks a wallet for a .sol name.

FIDA is the token of Bonfida, an SPL token on Solana whose mint, EchesyfXePKdLtoiZSL8pBe8Myagyy8ZRqsACNCFGnvp, reads the same on Jupiter and on CoinGecko. The FIDA community sits somewhere unusual for a 2020 Solana token: the company that issued it now goes by another name and has launched a separate token. Cherry (cherry.fun) is a wallet-to-wallet messenger and community app for crypto: you sign in with a wallet, DM any wallet address, and join group chats whose membership is read from the chain. This page covers what FIDA is, how Bonfida became SNS, and how the SNS Club on Cherry checks for a .sol name.

Supply is capped at 1,000,000,000 FIDA, with 990,910,581 circulating on 13 September 2026, a market cap near $19.9 million and 50,079 holder wallets. It carries 6 decimals, with mint and freeze authority disabled.

Bonfida’s turn from Serum to the name service

Bonfida began as a trading business. FIDA’s public offerings priced at $0.10 on FTX and BitMax on 17 December 2020, an Initial Serum Offering closed on 22 December 2020, and the token generation event landed on 23 December 2020. Around the token the team built infrastructure for the Serum order-book exchange: its best-known trading front end, an asset-agnostic orderbook program, and the first widely used token vesting contract on Solana.

The turn came on 22 June 2021, when Bonfida launched the Solana Naming Service and began selling .sol names by auction from a minimum bid of $20 USDC. Names outlasted the exchange work, and the name service moved out into a brand of its own.

The SNS chapter and what it meant for FIDA

That brand is SNS, at sns.id, and its documentation sums up the road behind it in the writers’ own words: “ambitious early plans, tough pivots, a full rebrand and new leadership.”

On 13 May 2025 SNS launched a token of its own, $SNS, at mint SNS8DJbHc34nKySHVhLGMUUE72ho6igvJaxtq9T3cX3, total supply 10 billion. Forty percent went to the community: 1.5 billion for roughly 275,000 wallets holding at least one .sol name at the snapshot of 23:59:59 UTC on 30 April 2025, 500 million for other Solana communities and partners, and 2 billion for the LFG campaign. The Genesis Airdrop claim opened at 15:00 UTC on 13 May 2025 and closed ninety days later.

FIDA holders sit in that 500 million line, named beside pyth.sol and monkedao.sol subdomain holders as one of the eligible communities, and that is the whole of the documented link. The SNS documentation describes no swap, no conversion and no redemption of FIDA into SNS. The Block reported on 13 May 2025 that Bonfida had said FIDA’s “tokenomics are not sustainable” and that FIDA could no longer “provide the alignment or incentive model that .sol domain holders” require.

Two published descriptions pull in different directions. CoinGecko’s Bonfida page says Bonfida has rebranded to Solana Name Service, while the same site lists SNS as a separate coin with a separate mint. The brand moved and the token did not: on 13 September 2026 SNS had 2.5 billion of 10 billion circulating and a market cap near $2.6 million.

The FIDA community and its official channels

Bonfida’s site still calls the company the home of .sol domains, carries the blog and links a FIDA governance forum on Realms. Day-to-day conversation followed the product. The SNS documentation lists the channels that project runs: a Discord at discord.sns.id, a Telegram at t.me/snsdotsol, the X account @sns, and the site and blog at sns.id.

That documentation also warns that SNS administrators will never message you first, ask for funds, or ask you to validate your wallet. It has to: in a public Telegram group a stranger can copy a team member’s display name and send the first DM, and the member list gives you nothing to check it against.

The SNS Club on Cherry

The SNS Club is a public Cherry room for wallets holding a name from that registry. The storefront at chat.cherry.fun/@sns states the requirement as “Hold a .sol domain”. On 13 September 2026 it had 1,454 members, 3,872 messages and 5 stars from 2 reviews.

The gate is a domain rule. Cherry checks the wallet you sign in with for a name ending in .sol, also written .sns, the same registry. That check runs when you ask to join and keeps running in the background, because these names can be transferred. If a name leaves the wallet you stay a member: the room holds its place in your chat list, with the message content withheld until a check passes again. A later passing check restores it, and so does the “Re-check” button on the paywall screen, with no re-join.

That separates the SNS Club from Cherry’s token-balance holder rooms, where a rule points at one mint with a minimum amount and position size decides. Here a single name admits you, whatever it cost, and your FIDA balance plays no part. Cherry’s wallet-gated clubs work this way across name endings and collections.

A FIDA holder without a name is one purchase away. Register at sns.id, where names are priced by character length, or buy an existing .sol domain on a Solana marketplace, then sign in with that wallet. The name becomes your display name , and you can DM any member wallet to wallet with end-to-end encrypted messages.

Cherry is not affiliated with Bonfida or with SNS: the SNS Club is a room Cherry created and runs, and nothing posted in it speaks for either project. An owner who wants a FIDA-only room can point a token-gated chat rule at the FIDA mint, the way any group chat is gated on an SPL mint. If you hold a .sol name, open the SNS Club and sign in with that wallet.

FAQ

Is there a FIDA Holders room on Cherry?

No, and none is planned. Cherry runs the SNS Club instead, a room for wallets holding a name from the .sol registry, because that is where the community around Bonfida ended up. Any owner can still gate a room on the FIDA mint with a token balance rule.

Did FIDA convert into SNS?

The SNS documentation sets out no swap, no conversion and no redemption of FIDA into SNS. FIDA holders were named as one of the communities eligible for part of the 500 million SNS set aside for Solana communities and partners in the Genesis Airdrop, whose claim window closed on 11 August 2025. FIDA still trades under its own mint.

What is the FIDA mint address?

EchesyfXePKdLtoiZSL8pBe8Myagyy8ZRqsACNCFGnvp, an SPL token with 6 decimals on Solana. Jupiter and CoinGecko both list FIDA against that address; check any address in two places before you use it.

What happens if my .sol name leaves the wallet I signed in with?

You stay a member of the SNS Club and the room keeps its place in your chat list, with the message content withheld until a check passes again. Move the name back into that wallet, press the Re-check button on the paywall screen, and access returns with no re-join.

Group chats on Cherry are not end-to-end encrypted, by design, so moderation and bots can work; DMs are. A passing check proves a wallet held a name when the check ran, not that its owner is honest. Nothing here is financial advice. Tokens can lose value.
