BONK is a dog-themed memecoin on Solana, an SPL token at mint DezXAZ8z7PnrnRJjz3wXBoRgixCa6xjnB7YaB1pPB263 with five decimals. An anonymous group of Solana developers launched it on 25 December 2022, weeks after the FTX collapse, and airdropped half of the 100 trillion supply to Solana NFT collectors, developers and artists instead of selling a round to venture funds. About 88 trillion BONK circulate, worth about $239 million on 11 September 2026.

The token anchors products the community built around it: LetsBonk.fun, a launchpad that briefly led Solana memecoin launches during 2025; BonkSwap, a decentralized exchange; and BonkBot, a Telegram trading bot with burn mechanics. BonkDAO holds 15% of supply and votes on-chain. The BURNmas campaign of December 2024 burned 1.69 trillion tokens, and in September 2025 the Nasdaq-listed company Safety Shot formed BONK Holdings LLC and acquired more than 2.5% of circulating supply.

Bridged BONK exists on Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Polygon and Arbitrum; the Solana mint above is the original and the one a gating rule should name.

Where the BONK community talks today

The project’s published channels are the bonkcoin.com site, the @bonk_inu account on X, a Discord server, and a Telegram at t.me/Official_Bonk_Inu .

At a million wallets, the open channels carry what every large memecoin inherits. Anyone can walk into a Discord and claim a position. The usual patch is a verify bot that sends you to a third-party site to sign something, the shape of the scam it is meant to prevent.

BONK holders on Cherry

Cherry opened a BONK Holders room at chat.cherry.fun/@bonk on 11 September 2026. Cherry created it and runs it: this is Cherry’s holders room, not the project’s channel, and Cherry is not affiliated with the BONK team. Entry is a single token balance rule against the mint above, minimum 1 BONK. On the day it opened the room was public, with one member and no reviews.

Every name in the member list passed an on-chain read done by the app itself. Nobody DMs you a verify link, and membership is re-checked in the background, so a wallet that sells out loses access. Holders can DM any wallet address from there, including wallets that have never opened Cherry, and trade $BONK in the chat: type the ticker and the composer renders a token card with price and market cap, with the swap powered by Jupiter. Size goes through OTC escrow in the mobile app, where a program settles both legs atomically and refunds a deal that times out. An airdrop campaign can run on the same balance check.

One BONK-specific option: .bonk is an AllDomains TLD, and a domain requirement on Cherry checks name ownership on-chain. A room can admit .bonk name owners, or pair that with the balance rule. How to create a BONK-gated room

1. Open chat.cherry.fun and sign in with a Solana wallet. The wallet signs a message; nothing goes on-chain, no gas.
2. Create a group with a name, description and handle, and set it public so it gets a storefront page.
3. Add an access requirement of the token-balance type and paste the mint DezXAZ8z7PnrnRJjz3wXBoRgixCa6xjnB7YaB1pPB263. Check that the symbol resolves to BONK before saving.
4. Set the minimum. 1 BONK admits any holder; 100,000,000 BONK builds a room of larger positions. A group takes up to five rules under all (every rule passes) or any (one is enough), so a second rule can add .bonk name owners.
5. Share the room’s public link. Visitors see the requirement, and whether their wallet passes, before joining.

Risks and disclaimers

BONK is a memecoin: its price is driven by attention, and the team behind it has been anonymous since launch. A balance gate proves a wallet held the minimum when it was read, not that its owner is honest, so scam links and impersonation still need mods who can mute and ban. Group chats on Cherry are not end-to-end encrypted, by design, so moderation and bots can work; DMs are end-to-end encrypted with keys derived from your wallet. FAQ

Does BONK have an official Telegram group?

Yes. bonkcoin.com links a Telegram at t.me/Official_Bonk_Inu, next to its X account and Discord server. BonkBot is a separate Telegram trading bot, so a Telegram search for BONK also turns up bot chats and copycats.

Is the BONK Holders room on Cherry run by the BONK team?

No. Cherry created and runs it, and Cherry is not affiliated with the BONK team. It is a holders room for anyone whose wallet passes the balance check, and it does not speak for the project.

How much BONK do I need to join?

The room at chat.cherry.fun/@bonk asks for at least 1 BONK in the wallet you sign in with, so any holder qualifies. An owner running their own room can set any minimum, so a whale room of 100 million BONK and up is a two-field change.

What happens if I sell my BONK?

Membership in a gated public group is re-checked on-chain in the background. A wallet that drops below the minimum is paywalled: it stays in the group, but message content is withheld until the balance is back.

Can I gate a room by a .bonk domain?

Yes. .bonk is an AllDomains TLD, and a domain requirement on Cherry checks on-chain that the wallet owns a name under it. That admits .bonk name owners whether or not they hold the token, and both rules can sit in one room.
