Seeker chat app: Cherry on the Solana dApp Store

This guide takes a Solana Seeker from a fresh install to a first message in a Seeker-only room, using the .skr name the phone already gave you. There is no phone number, no email, and no KYC anywhere in the flow. If you are arriving from Telegram, the mechanical difference is what the rooms check before they let anyone in.

Before you start

Three prerequisites, all of them on the phone.

• A Solana Seeker with the Seed Vault Wallet set up. Sign-in itself costs nothing: the wallet signs a message, nothing goes on-chain, and there is no gas.
• A .skr name, if you want the Seeker-only rooms. .skr is the Seeker TLD, and it is soulbound to the wallet that holds it, which is the property the gate relies on.
• A wallet that is not minutes old. Cherry’s wallet-age gate stops brand-new wallets from posting in public groups and from leaving reviews, and their cold DMs land hidden.

Step 1: Install Cherry from the Solana dApp Store

Open the Solana dApp Store on your Seeker and search for Cherry. The listing is published by cherry.fun under the app name Cherry Messenger, with the short description “Wallet-to-wallet messenger”.

You know it worked when the Cherry icon is on your home screen and the app opens straight to a sign-in screen.

Step 2: Sign in with the Seed Vault Wallet

On Android, the Seeker included, Cherry reaches wallets through Mobile Wallet Adapter. Press “Connect Wallet”. A sheet headed “Choose your favorite wallet” opens; tap “Wallet Adapter (Seeker)”. The first onboarding screen states what that approval covers: “This only allows Cherry to see your public Solana address.” The Seed Vault Wallet opens, shows the requesting app as Cherry Messenger at cherry.fun, and asks you to approve once.

Onboarding then asks for a second signature. The screen that follows carries the button “Sign In” and the line “Signing this message proves you own the wallet. Cherry can never access your private keys, recovery phrases, or your tokens.”

That signature proves the wallet is yours and creates the session; nothing goes on-chain. The keys that encrypt your DMs come from a separate signature you make when you turn on end-to-end encryption. Private keys stay in the Seed Vault.

Step 3: Make your .skr your display name

Open your profile and edit it. The section headed “Domains” lists every name your wallet holds, .skr and .sol side by side, under the hint “Tap a domain to use it as your display name”. Tap the one you want; the active chip carries a small “name” tag, and the change commits when you save. Avatars can come from the name’s own records.

From then on you appear in rooms as your .skr, other members @mention you by it, and anyone can DM that name without knowing your address.

Step 4: Join the Seeker-only rooms

The gate is a domain rule on the .skr TLD, checked against the wallet you signed in with. Because .skr is soulbound, Cherry verifies it once at join time rather than re-checking it in the background the way it re-checks token balances. Step 5: Use the Seeker chat app day to day

Four things to set up on day one, all of them wallet-native.

• DM any wallet. Type an address, a .skr, or a .sol name. The recipient does not need a Cherry account; the conversation waits for them. DMs are end-to-end encrypted with keys derived from your wallet. Group chats are not end-to-end encrypted, by design, so moderation and bots can work. Keep that in mind before you paste anything sensitive into a room.
• Open mini apps inside the chat. The Trading Terminal mini app (@trade) covers spot swaps, perpetual futures, and tokenized stocks; prediction markets run through the Polymarket mini app (@predict); Jupiter Swap runs at @swap. None of them asks for a second login. See mini apps .
• Trade from the conversation. • Catch drops aimed at owners. Teams run airdrop campaigns across Cherry communities, including verified Seeker audiences, with quest-style eligibility such as holding an asset or being on a list.

Troubleshooting

The sheet headed “Choose your favorite wallet” opens on the Seeker too. Its first entry is “Wallet Adapter (Seeker)”, the Mobile Wallet Adapter path to the Seed Vault Wallet; the Phantom, Solflare and Backpack entries under it are deeplink wallets. Tap the Seeker entry.

The .skr rule reads as failing. Cherry evaluates whichever wallet is connected. Sign out and back in with the Seed Vault account that claimed the name. If you claimed it minutes ago, give it a moment and retry. When Cherry cannot read the chain at that moment, it does not count the check as failed.

You are in a room but cannot post. That is the wallet-age gate. It lifts as the wallet ages, and there is no form to fill in.

Someone says they messaged you and nothing arrived. A first DM from a stranger lands in Requests without a push notification, and cold DMs from very new wallets go to a hidden folder. You want to keep Telegram too. The Seeker runs Android, so nothing stops you. The rooms differ in what they verify: an invite link versus an on-chain check the app performs itself.
