What is copy trading in crypto? Auto-copy vs one tap

Copy trading in crypto means repeating another trader's trades. How exchange copy trading and Solana copy bots work, the risks, and Cherry's one-tap copy.

What is copy trading in crypto? It is repeating another trader’s trades with your own money, either by letting an exchange or a bot mirror them for you, or by taking one shared trade and placing it yourself. Cherry (cherry.fun), a wallet-to-wallet messenger and community app for crypto, offers the second kind: a trade another member shares in the chat can be copied from the chat in one tap, through the same swap flow.

How copy trading in crypto works

Two models share the name, and they split on who holds the money and who signs.

Exchange copy trading mirrors a lead trader with funds you allocate inside the exchange. eToro’s CopyTrader page says, as of October 2026, that copied trades are “replicated to your portfolio in real time”, with a $200 minimum to copy a trader and no extra charge for copying beyond spreads and transaction fees. Bybit’s help center (last updated 25 February 2026) has copiers share 10% to 15% of their profit with the master trader, by rank.

Solana copy-trading bots track a wallet. In Trojan, a Telegram trading bot , you paste a Target Wallet and set a percentage of its buys or a fixed amount; the bot buys from the trading wallet it generated for you, at 1% per successful trade with 20% cashback (Trojan’s docs, October 2026). Its guide says higher gas and slippage “might be necessary for quicker Copy Trade execution”.

Is copy trading safe?

It carries the original trade’s risk and more: a lead trader’s loss becomes yours, in proportion. You enter later and higher, after the target and other copiers. A large copy order with wide slippage invites sandwich bots, which buy ahead of it and sell into the fill. A wallet that knows it is being copied can buy, let its copiers lift the price, then sell into them; Trojan’s copy-trade guide (October 2026) tells users who copy a sniper to “remember you are exit liquidity”. Bots add custody risk: Trojan’s docs say “Always treat your wallet as a hot wallet.”

Example on Cherry

A $TICKER or contract address posted in a room renders a token card, and BUY on it opens the same swap flow as any trade in chat , signed in your wallet. A Trading Terminal mini app result shared into a room arrives as a live card another member can buy from.

Cherry does not mirror another wallet’s trades, and every copy is a single trade the member signs. With an external wallet, Cherry never holds the funds. A copy from a token card is an ordinary in-chat swap, so there is no separate copy fee; Cherry earns a referral share on in-chat swaps. On iOS, Swap and Buy are outbound links to Jupiter and MoonPay.

Where the owner switched it on, the call bot ranks a room’s calls by peak multiplier since the call and credits the earliest caller. It ranks calls, not traders.

To copy trade on Solana this way, find the shared card, check who holds the token , look for the caller’s calls on the call bot’s board if the room runs one, tap BUY, and read the wallet prompt before you sign. Nothing here is financial advice.

Open a room at chat.cherry.fun and copy the next shared trade from your wallet.

  • KOL : a caller whose trades rooms copy.
  • Alpha group : a closed room where trades get shared.
  • Crypto whale : a holder whose trades get watched.
