Mini apps in chat are web apps that open inside a conversation, with the user’s wallet and the room already known to the app. On Cherry, the wallet-to-wallet messenger and community app for crypto (web app at chat.cherry.fun, iOS, Android, and the Solana dApp Store on Seeker), a mini app opens from a room or from a card inside a message. What mini apps do on Cherry

A mini app on Cherry is a web app paired with a public room that has its own handle. The room is where players and traders talk; the app is one tap away from the message list. The Cherry Marketplace lists these rooms as apps, ahead of communities, and anyone can browse it without signing in; it held 16 apps in October 2026.

Three things make the format work:

• The app knows your wallet address, display name, and avatar the moment it loads, vouched for by Cherry, and can ask that wallet to sign or send a transaction. Signing still goes through your wallet.
• The app knows which room it was opened from, so a game can run a per-room leaderboard and a trading app can post back into the room you came from.
• The same app can run fullscreen or as a card inside a message. Cherry calls the inline form a blink: a quiz, a poll, a swap widget, or a shared score that mounts in the chat bubble.

Live mini apps on Cherry as of October 2026

The table below lists eleven mini app rooms, with each room’s members in September 2026 and its members and messages in October 2026. Since 21 September 2026, Cherry’s onboarding recommends a starting lineup of rooms from a new user’s picks and joins them by default unless the user unticks one. Member counts show reach; message counts say more about use.

Domin8, Chainshorts, “Don’t push the horses” and DopeRaider are also registered as Cherry mini apps in October 2026, without a room in the table.

SOL Miner is Cherry-run; results and complaints land in its chat.

SOL Reclaim is a Cherry-run utility (“This mini app is managed by Cherry”, its room says). Wallets that have traded memecoins collect empty token accounts, each holding a rent deposit; the app closes them and returns the deposits . Its fee is taken from the reclaimed rent, and the review screen shows “Rent recovered” and “You receive” before you approve. Its room has the most messages in the table.

Earn is Cherry’s own deposit app. As of October 2026 it lists lending, staking, savings and LP vaults from Solana protocols such as Jupiter and Kamino; each vault page has an issuer note and a “Risks” section. Its fee is shown before you sign: the deposit receipt reads “Includes a 0.5% platform fee”, and the withdraw screen says “No withdrawal fee”. More in the Earn mini app .

BananaZone is a third-party tap-trading game. Gib Meme, a meme game with its own chat, is not in the table above but is still live in the Marketplace under Games and Memes, with 1,953 members and 2,655 messages in October 2026.

Tramplin.io, Backyard Fi and loyal are third-party money apps; what their rooms say about returns is their own claim. Tramplin.io’s random draws are a prize-pool mechanic.

Three more Cherry-run apps handle trading. Swap trades one token for another without leaving the chat. In the Polymarket mini app you pick an event, choose YES or NO, enter an “Amount in USDC”, check “Price per share”, “Est. shares” and “Max payout”, and approve the trade in your own Solana wallet; you can close a position before the market resolves, or claim after a win. As of October 2026, its trade sheet’s terms say that by trading you agree you are not a U.S. person and not located in the United States, France or another restricted territory; rules differ by country. How mini apps in chat work

From your side, a mini app session has four moments.

1. You open it. Tap the app from its room, or tap a mini app card someone shared in a DM or group. It opens inside Cherry on the web, on iOS and Android, and on Seeker, fullscreen or inline in the message.
2. It already knows you. Before the app renders, Cherry hands it a signed proof of your wallet address, display name, and avatar, plus the room you opened it from. A mini app that also runs as a website keeps its own login out there; inside Cherry that step disappears.
3. It asks, your wallet answers. When the app needs a message signed, a transaction signed, or a transaction sent, the request goes to your wallet and you approve it there. If you signed in with a wallet, that wallet signs. In the Cherry web app, an account created with Google, Apple or X gets a Cherry Wallet at sign-up, and the sign-up screen says “Every Cherry ID has a wallet for mini apps and tips.” and “Mini apps and purchases use this one; any wallet you link later stays out of reach.”
4. You share the result. An app that supports sharing hands Cherry a read-only snapshot, such as a score or a cleaned-up wallet, with an optional caption. You pick a DM or group, the message goes out from your wallet, and the recipient taps the card to open the same mini app showing that snapshot. The snapshot travels signed by Cherry, so nobody can forge the result on the card.

Each mini app is registered with the requests it may make: reading your public address, asking for signatures, sending a transaction, opening a profile or a room, and appearing as a card inside a message.

What is different from Telegram and Farcaster mini apps

The mechanism differs on where the app launches from and what the runtime knows about the user.

Farcaster’s distribution is feed-first, which suits a launch; Cherry’s is room-first, which suits an app whose players keep talking.

Who uses mini apps and for what

Three concrete cases from the live list.

A trader in a token room wants to size up without leaving the conversation. Someone posts a call, the room debates it, and the trader opens Trading Terminal from the same screen to take a perp position or buy a tokenized stock, signing with the wallet already connected to Cherry. Prediction markets work the same way through the Polymarket mini app: the argument about an outcome and the trade on it sit in one room.

A game studio wants Seeker owners without an Android build. BananaZone and Gib Meme are web apps from their own builders. Registering them on Cherry put them in front of Cherry’s Seeker audience (Cherry is #1 on the Seeker dApp Store with 4.8 stars from 5,000+ reviews as of September 2026), plus iOS, Android, and web, and gave each app a room where players talk and the builder posts updates. Builders also get re-activation through Cherry push notifications.

A holder wants to clean up a wallet and show the result. After SOL Reclaim returns the rent, the user shares the result as a blink card into a DM or group; the recipient taps it and sees the snapshot rendered by the same app, sent from the user’s wallet rather than a bot.

As of September 2026, the Mini App SDK is also live inside third-party apps such as Solflare, Mattle.fun, SeekerGram, and Seeker Legends, so the same integration reaches users who are not opening Cherry itself.

Limits and honest caveats

• Mini app signing is Solana-only as of September 2026. Cherry supports Base, Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, and Robinhood Chain for chats and DMs, not for signing inside a mini app.
• Third-party mini apps, among them BananaZone, Tramplin.io, Backyard Fi and loyal, run their own code and backends. Cherry passes your wallet address and a signature request and does not vet an app’s contracts; with an external wallet, Cherry never holds the funds. Read the room before you stake.
• SOL Miner and Plinko are wagering games played with real SOL, Tramplin.io’s draws are a prize pool, and the rules for wagering, prize draws, prediction markets and tokenized stocks differ by country. Nothing here is financial advice.
• Mini app rooms are public groups, and group chats on Cherry are not end-to-end encrypted, by design, so moderation and bots can work. DMs are.
• A shared card is a read-only snapshot: tapping it opens the app, but the card has no buttons of its own.
• Listing a mini app goes through the Cherry team as of October 2026: the Marketplace lists it once the team registers it. Bots, API keys, and chat embeds are self-serve in Cherry Portal.
• Ratings on mini app rooms ranged from 1 star to 5 in October 2026; they are written by wallets that joined the room, and worth reading before you open an unfamiliar app. A Marketplace card shows stars once a listing has five reviews.

1. Open a mini app’s room, for example SOL Miner , and sign in with your wallet.
2. Join the room and open the app from it. It loads with your wallet attached.
3. Approve the first transaction in your wallet when the app asks; that is the first time anything needs your approval.
4. To show someone a result, use the app’s share button, pick a DM or group, and send the card.
