Three things make the format work:

• The app knows your wallet address, display name, and avatar the moment it loads, vouched for by Cherry, and can ask that wallet to sign or send a transaction. Signing still goes through your wallet.
• The app knows which room it was opened from, so a game can run a per-room leaderboard and a trading app can post back into the room you came from.
• The same app can run fullscreen or as a card inside a message. Cherry calls the inline form a blink: a quiz, a poll, a swap widget, or a shared score that mounts in the chat bubble.

How mini apps in chat work

From your side, a mini app session has four moments.

1. You open it. Tap the app from its room, or tap a mini app card someone shared in a DM or group. It opens inside Cherry on the web, on iOS and Android, and on Seeker, fullscreen or inline in the message.
2. It already knows you. Before the app renders, Cherry hands it a signed proof of your wallet address, display name, and avatar, plus the room you opened it from. A mini app that also runs as a website keeps its own login out there; inside Cherry that step disappears.
3. It asks, your wallet answers. When the app needs a message signed, a transaction signed, or a transaction sent, the request goes to your wallet and you approve it there. The wallet you signed in to Cherry with is the wallet that signs.
4. You share the result. An app that supports sharing hands Cherry a read-only snapshot, such as a score or a cleaned-up wallet, with an optional caption. You pick a DM or group, the message goes out from your wallet, and the recipient taps the card to open the same mini app showing that snapshot. The snapshot travels signed by Cherry, so nobody can forge the result on the card.

Each mini app is registered with the requests it may make: reading your public address, asking for signatures, sending a transaction, opening a profile or a room, and appearing as a card inside a message.

What is different from Telegram and Farcaster mini apps

The mechanism differs on where the app launches from and what the runtime knows about the user.

A trader in a token room wants to size up without leaving the conversation. Someone posts a call, the room debates it, and the trader opens Trading Terminal from the same screen to take a perp position or buy a tokenized stock, signing with the wallet already connected to Cherry. Prediction markets work the same way through the Polymarket mini app: the argument about an outcome and the market on it sit in one room.

A game studio wants Seeker owners without an Android build. SOL Miner, BananaZone, and Gib Meme are web apps. • Mini app signing is Solana-only as of September 2026. Cherry supports Base, Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, and Robinhood Chain for chats and DMs, not for signing inside a mini app.
• Most mini apps are third-party code with their own backends. Cherry passes your wallet address and a signature request; it does not custody funds and does not vet an app’s contracts. Read the room before you stake.
• Mini app rooms are public groups, and group chats on Cherry are not end-to-end encrypted, by design, so moderation and bots can work. DMs are.
