Where to buy tokenized stocks, by country and custody

Robinhood, Coinbase, Kraken, Bybit, Jupiter, Ondo, Dinari and Cherry compared on who may buy, where the token sits, and the fees each venue publishes.

Where to buy tokenized stocks depends first on where you live, because every issuer in this list restricts buyers by country, and second on whether you want the token in your own wallet or as a balance inside an app. This October 2026 list covers eight places to buy: brokers that issue their own tokens (Robinhood, Coinbase, Dinari), exchanges that list another issuer’s tokens (Kraken, Bybit), and on-chain routes from a self-custody wallet (Jupiter, Ondo Stocks, and Cherry’s Trading Terminal). Cherry (cherry.fun), a wallet-to-wallet messenger and community app for crypto, is listed last. If you are a US resident, skip to Dinari.

How we picked

We checked each venue in the order a buyer meets the questions:

  1. Residency: who the issuer or venue says may buy, quoted from its own page.
  2. Custody: a balance inside an app, a token you can withdraw, or a token in your own wallet from the first trade.
  3. Issuer, legal form and chain: who creates the token, what it is in law, and where it lives.
  4. Published fees: only figures the venue states, dated. Anything else reads “not stated”.

Robinhood

Robinhood sells two different products under the Stock Token name. In the EU, the Robinhood Europe app offers what it now calls Classic Stock Tokens, which its support pages describe as “derivative contracts between you and Robinhood”. Its FAQ says: “You can buy, sell, or hold Classic Stock Tokens—but you cannot send them to other wallets or platforms at this time.” In October 2026 the same FAQ listed a 0.1% FX fee on each order and no other Robinhood fees.

The second product lives on Robinhood Chain, an Arbitrum-based Ethereum layer 2 that went live on mainnet on 1 July 2026 (The Block, 1 July 2026). Robinhood’s chain page says “Stock Tokens are tokenised debt securities issued by Robinhood Assets (Jersey) Limited”, that they “are not available in the US”, and that offers are restricted in places “including, without limitation, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland”. Its developer docs call them “standard ERC-20 tokens that can be held, transferred, and composed into applications onchain”, and The Block reported that eligible users in more than 120 countries reach them through Robinhood Wallet. The chain’s holder culture is covered in Robinhood Chain community chat .

Fit: Classic for an EU customer who wants everything inside a broker app; the chain tokens for an eligible buyer who wants an ERC-20 in their own wallet.

Coinbase

Coinbase Tokenized Stocks went live on Base on 24 August 2026 for eligible users outside the United States, starting with Apple and Nvidia, with Alpaca as the custodian of the shares (Decrypt, 24 August 2026). In October 2026, Base’s stocks page says “Each token is a beneficial claim on a real share, held in regulated, bankruptcy-remote custody separate from Coinbase”, that the tokens are “Available only in eligible jurisdictions outside the US”, and “Hold your tokenized stocks in a wallet only you control.” It publishes no country list and no fee. In June 2026 Coinbase said holders would automatically receive dividends (The Block, 16 June 2026).

Base’s page lists Coinbase Wallet among the apps that trade them. Coinbase Wallet is Coinbase’s consumer wallet, called Base App from July 2025 to September 2026; Cherry vs Base App compares it with Cherry.

Fit: an eligible non-US buyer who wants a Coinbase-issued token on Base.

Kraken

Kraken sells xStocks, the tokens issued by Backed Assets (JE) Limited; Kraken agreed to acquire Backed in December 2025. In October 2026 the issuer’s site says: “xStocks are not available to residents of the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, or sanctioned jurisdictions.” and “xStocks are not available in the United States or to U.S. persons”. Kraken’s own availability article (last updated 18 June 2026) lists “United States, Australia, Canada, UK and Prohibited regions”, and clients in the EEA must pass a questionnaire first.

The token starts as a balance in your Kraken account. Kraken’s xStocks pages say “self-custody is supported” on Solana and Ink, and that xStocks trade 24/5 on Kraken and 24/7 on-chain once withdrawn. In October 2026 it put the purchase price at “a market price + 1.0% spread”, with Instant Buy fees on top unless you pay in USD or USDG.

Fit: an exchange account with fiat on-ramps and a later withdrawal option.

Bybit

Bybit lists xStocks on its spot market, 24/7. Its FAQ (last updated 30 July 2026) says only users who completed Standard Identity Verification or Business Verification can trade them, that “xStocks are not available in certain jurisdictions”, and that deposits and withdrawals run on the Solana and Mantle networks. The fee schedule follows Bybit’s Adventure Zone: 0.20% maker and 0.20% taker at VIP 0. Bybit says dividends and splits may be reflected through an adjustment to the token multiplier.

Fit: you already trade on Bybit.

Jupiter

Jupiter, the Solana trading app and aggregator, routes tokenized stocks from several issuers to a self-custody wallet. Its docs list Backpack, xStocks, Ondo, PreStocks, Tessera and Shift, say “Jupiter does not issue, back, or guarantee any tokenized stock”, and add “Trading on Jupiter itself does not require KYC, but check the issuer’s terms before buying”. Ondo tokens trade only against USDC, and most of them follow a Sunday-to-Friday schedule.

Fit: a Solana wallet holder who wants to choose the issuer.

Ondo Stocks

Ondo Stocks, formerly Ondo Global Markets, came to Solana on 21 January 2026 with more than 200 tokenized US stocks and ETFs, available first through Jupiter (Solana Foundation, 21 January 2026). In October 2026, Ondo’s page lists “450+ Tokenized Stocks and ETFs” on Ethereum, BNB Chain and Solana and says they “are offered only outside the United States and only to eligible non-U.S. persons”. You buy from your wallet in Ondo’s app after onboarding, or through listed wallets and exchanges.

Fit: a non-US buyer who wants one issuer across three chains.

Dinari

Dinari is the US answer in this list. On 4 August 2026 it opened 724 tokenized US stocks, dShares, to eligible US investors, bought with USDC from self-custody wallets (Dinari’s release, 4 August 2026). In October 2026 Dinari’s site says “dShares are available in 92 jurisdictions including the U.S.” and that “Every dShare carries hard-coded KYC gating, geographic restrictions, accredited investor verification, and AML monitoring”. The launch release named Avalanche, Arbitrum, Base and Ethereum as its chains, with Sei and Solana “expected soon”, and added dividends paid in USDC.

Fit: you are in the US, you accept onboarding checks, and an EVM wallet is fine.

Cherry’s Trading Terminal

Cherry’s Trading Terminal is a mini app that runs inside Cherry chats, and its “Stocks & RWAs” board lists xStocks. You reach it two ways: open the board in the Terminal, or tap BUY on a token card someone posted in a chat, then the Terminal chip in the swap sheet (web app). The swap is signed in your own Solana wallet and the token lands there. Cherry is not a broker: there is no brokerage account to open, and with an external wallet such as Phantom or Solflare, Cherry never holds the funds.

The issuer’s restriction applies to xStocks bought here too. In October 2026, xstocks.com says: “xStocks are not available to residents of the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, or sanctioned jurisdictions.” and “xStocks are not available in the United States or to U.S. persons”. Check the Verified mark and the RWA tag on each row, because tokens that copy xStock names also turn up in the board’s full list.

The Trading Terminal’s room had 1,076 members and 5 stars from 3 reviews in October 2026. Opening the Terminal adds you to that room, so the count shows reach only. The Trading Terminal mini app page covers the screens, and real-world assets on Cherry covers what else the Terminal reaches by search.

Fit: a Solana wallet holder whom the issuer allows to buy, acting on a token posted in a chat.

Which one to pick

Start with your country:

  • In the US: Dinari, after its onboarding checks.
  • In the UK, Canada or Australia: xStocks are out, and Robinhood’s Stock Tokens are restricted in Canada and the UK. Check Coinbase’s, Ondo’s and Dinari’s eligibility first.
  • In the EU or elsewhere: pick by custody.

Then custody:

  • Self-custody: Jupiter for a choice of issuers, Ondo’s app for Ondo tokens, Coinbase Wallet for Coinbase’s Base tokens, Robinhood Wallet for Robinhood Chain Stock Tokens, or Cherry’s Trading Terminal if you want xStocks next to a chat.
  • An EU broker account and nothing on-chain: Robinhood Europe’s Classic Stock Tokens, which cannot leave the app.
  • Staying inside one exchange: Kraken or Bybit.

Read whether it is safe to connect your wallet before you sign anything. Are tokenized stocks safe covers issuer and custody risk, and the step-by-step for a first purchase is in how to buy tokenized stocks .

Nothing here is financial advice. Tokens can lose value.

If xStocks are open to you and you already have a Solana wallet, the Trading Terminal opens at chat.cherry.fun/@trade from any chat.

FAQ

Can US residents buy tokenized stocks?

Most venues here exclude them: xStocks, Ondo Stocks, Robinhood’s Stock Tokens and Coinbase Tokenized Stocks are offered only outside the United States. Dinari is the exception. Since 4 August 2026 eligible US investors can buy its dShares with USDC from a self-custody wallet after Dinari’s onboarding checks.

Are tokenized stocks real shares?

No. The token is a separate instrument that tracks a share: Kraken says xStocks don’t confer ownership, Robinhood’s Stock Tokens are tokenised debt securities, Robinhood Europe’s Classic Stock Tokens are derivative contracts with Robinhood, and Coinbase calls its tokens a beneficial claim on a share held in custody.

Do tokenized stocks pay dividends?

It depends on the issuer. Kraken says xStocks dividends arrive as more of the same token, Ondo reinvests them net of withholding tax, Robinhood Chain Stock Tokens adjust an on-chain multiplier, and Dinari added dividends paid in USDC in August 2026.

Can I move tokenized stocks to my own wallet?

On most venues, yes. Kraken and Bybit let you withdraw xStocks to an on-chain wallet, and Jupiter, Ondo, Dinari, Coinbase, Robinhood Chain and Cherry’s Trading Terminal put the token in your wallet from the start. Robinhood Europe’s Classic Stock Tokens stay inside the app.

Which venue is cheapest?

Few venues publish a comparable figure. In October 2026 Kraken priced xStocks at the market price plus a 1.0% spread and Robinhood Europe charged a 0.1% FX fee per order; Bybit’s FAQ of 30 July 2026 listed 0.20% maker and taker at VIP 0. Jupiter’s fee page lists 0 to 0.5% in its default Ultra mode; Coinbase’s, Ondo’s and Dinari’s pages publish no trading-fee figure, and on-chain swaps add price impact and network fees.
