Phantom wallet chat vs Cherry: token chats or holder rooms
Phantom wallet chat puts a live chat on every token, perp and prediction page. Cherry rooms belong to a community and gate entry on-chain. Compared.
Phantom wallet chat and Cherry solve different problems for a trader. Phantom’s live chats are market rooms: one chat on each token, perp and prediction-market page of the Phantom mobile app, open to any Phantom user with a username, at least $1 in the wallet and a Public or Private profile, as Phantom’s help center described them in October 2026. A Cherry room belongs to a community and its admins, and it can admit only wallets that pass rules Cherry checks on-chain and keeps re-checking. Talk about a chart while you trade it in Phantom; use Cherry for a room where every member verifiably holds, plus DMs to any wallet. The two fit together, because you can sign in to Cherry with your Phantom wallet.
Cherry (cherry.fun) is a wallet-to-wallet messenger and community app for crypto. You sign in with a wallet, DM any wallet address, and join or create token-gated, NFT-gated and paid group chats. Signing in with a wallet needs no phone number, email or KYC.
What Phantom wallet chat is
Phantom is a wallet first. Its home page in October 2026 calls it “The self-custodial wallet for trading predictions, perps, and tokens across Solana, Ethereum, Bitcoin, Robinhood, HyperEVM, and more.” Phantom Technologies, Inc. runs the chats inside it.
The social layer arrived in steps. The Block reported on 4 January 2025 that Phantom had launched profiles in December 2024, with friends and three privacy levels (public, private and invisible), and usernames on the mobile app only. Cointelegraph reported on 10 February 2026 that Phantom announced live chat across token, perpetual futures and prediction pages on 23 December 2025. In February 2026, Phantom posted “2024: Telegram, 2025: X communities, 2026: PHANTOM CHAT” on X, which outlets reported as its social feature for 2026. None of this is related to Phantom Chat Beta, an anonymous iOS messenger from an independent developer that shares the name.
As of October 2026, Phantom’s help center article “Join live chats in Phantom” sets out how the chats work:
- Join from any token, perp or prediction market by tapping Join Chat, or tap your profile avatar in the upper left, then Chats.
- Chats run in the Phantom mobile app only, “Not supported on the extension.”
- Chats cannot be turned off, hidden or muted: “Chats are always visible in Phantom.”
- System messages announce buys and sells by participants in real time. A leaderboard shows the top holders online, and badges in five tiers, from $1+ to $10,000+, show how much of the token each participant holds.
- Tap a message to see the sender’s open positions when available.
- Press and hold a message to react, report or block.
The article also says plainly: “Live chats are not a support channel.” If you searched for Phantom wallet chat because something is wrong with your wallet, go to the contact options in Phantom’s help center, and treat anyone in a chat who claims to be Phantom Support as a scammer, as the article warns.
What Cherry is
Cherry runs as a web app at chat.cherry.fun, as iOS and Android apps, and on the Solana dApp Store for the Solana Seeker phone, built by Cherry Technologies, S.A. It started on Solana and also supports Base, Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain and Robinhood Chain for token-gated chats and wallet DMs. cherry.fun says you can “Sign in with a wallet, or with an Apple, Google or X account.” Groups are public or private, gated by tokens, NFTs or domain names, or paid, and each public group has a storefront page that search engines index.
Cherry hosts the largest Seeker owners community. Seeker Club admits wallets that hold a .skr domain, and in October 2026 it had 8,717 members, 59,626 messages and a 4.9-star rating from 44 reviews.

Entry rules: open market chat or gated room
A Phantom token chat is open to every Phantom user who meets the account conditions, holder or not. Holder badges show who holds how much; they do not decide who can post.
A Cherry room decides who gets in. The owner picks up to 5 rules and combines them with all (every rule) or any (at least one):
- a minimum balance of a specific token, set by its mint;
- an NFT from a collection;
- a
.sol,.snsor.skrname; - a wallet balance or trading-volume threshold;
- the wallet app the member signed in with, or a one-time or recurring payment.
Cherry reads the chain itself, so nobody posts a verify link, and the app shows which rules you pass before you join. A room like BONK Holders runs on one rule, “Hold at least 1 $BONK”; Seeker Club runs on “Hold a .skr domain”. More recipes are on the token-gated chat page.
The rule keeps working after you join. Cherry re-checks holdings in the background, and a holder who sells is paywalled: they stay a member, the room keeps its place in their chat list, and the messages are withheld behind a screen that reads “You no longer meet this group’s requirements”, lists each requirement with a pass or fail mark, and offers a “Re-check” button. Buy back and press Re-check, or wait for a later passing check, and access returns with no re-join and no lost place.
Moderation and ownership
Phantom runs its chats with “moderation tools and community reporting”. Its article bans outside links, impersonating staff or users, giveaways that ask for funds or a wallet connection, personal information and harassment, and warns that breaking the rules gets messages taken down and accounts restricted or permanently banned. That is the answer to “phantom wallet chat ban”: Phantom decides, and its help center says temporary restrictions lift after seven days.
On Cherry the room’s owner sets the rules and appoints admins and moderators, who can kick, ban, mute, pin messages and run a word blacklist. Brand-new wallets cannot post in public groups, and reports go to admin review. The full set of layers is on the anti-spam page. Group chats on Cherry are not end-to-end encrypted, by design, so moderators and bots can read what they moderate.
Trading in the chat
Phantom’s strongest point is where its chat sits: on the trade screen of a wallet many traders already use, next to perps and prediction markets, with holder badges and open positions a tap away, and no second app. As Phantom’s help center puts it, “You can buy or sell tokens, perps, and prediction market contracts directly from a chat.”
Cherry brings the trade to the room. Type $TICKER or paste a contract address and the message renders a token card with its price and market cap. On the web, its BUY button opens a swap powered by Jupiter; on iOS, Swap and Buy are links out to Jupiter and MoonPay. Every swap is signed in your own wallet. Perps and tokenized stocks are available from the Trading Terminal mini app, and prediction markets from the Polymarket mini app, both inside Cherry. A trade another member shares in the chat can be copied in one tap through the same swap. The trading in chat
page walks through each step.
DMs and encryption
Phantom’s chat article covers public market chats and describes no direct messages.
On Cherry you can DM any wallet address, or a name such as alice.sol or alice.skr, and the recipient does not need an account yet. A stranger’s first DM lands in the recipient’s Requests folder with no push notification; a sender who wants to be noticed can pay a flat fee, 0.01 SOL as of 10 September 2026, to have a cold DM delivered with a notification. DMs are end-to-end encrypted with keys derived from your wallet. Group chats are not. Details are on the DM a wallet address
page.
Safety in public chats
Phantom’s own warning holds in any chat app: “Phantom will never contact you through chat, ask for your Secret Recovery Phrase, or ask you to connect your wallet to a third-party site.”
Never copy an address out of a public chat or out of your transaction history. Scammers plant lookalike addresses that match the first and last characters of one you use, a trick called address poisoning that targets every wallet. Send to an address you saved yourself, or to a name you typed, and check every character before you sign.
Phantom and Cherry together
On chat.cherry.fun, connect Phantom, press “Sign & Authenticate” on the sign-in card, and approve the message; the card notes “Signing is free and moves no money”. That is Sign In With Solana : nothing goes on-chain and there is no gas. Your Phantom holdings then count toward the gate of any Cherry room you join, so a BONK bag in Phantom is your entry to a BONK-gated room.
If you own a Seeker, the Seeker Club guide
shows how to join with your .skr name. For the wider set of social apps on Solana, see the best Solana social apps
